As my profile would suggest, I am a beaded jewelry designer. I use sterling silver, gemstones, freshwater pearls, wire, and silk cord to create my designs. Jewelry making was never one of my dreams or goals, but it is now my passion.

- I am originally a graphic designer, who fell into jewelry making in the most un-obvious of ways. After college, I moved to Northern Virginia and began a career with a defense contractor. Several years after meeting and marrying my husband, our first daughter was born, and I became a full time stay-at-home mother. One more child, two dogs, and twelve years later, I discovered the joy of making jewelry while working in a law firm library part-time, thus the name of my business – Joie de Beads. Designing and making jewelry is the perfect marriage of colors, shapes, and movement, plus some basic engineering. My designs are simply sophisticated and uniquely elegant. For me, life gets richer and lovelier with every passing year.
